![]() ![]() Eyeballing my original knobs against the replacement units, it is clear that they replacement parts are built for slightly narrower pot shafts.Īt Guitar Center today their Gibson-certified tech called Gibson and was told that the top hats used on the Traditional Pros are "production only" and are not sold retail. Even crimping the pot shaft won't get the knob more than halfway down, and then they're so tight I had to worry about pulling the shaft out of the pot getting them off. I have tried replacement knobs from All Parts, Stewmac, and Gibson-all of them the same fine-spline knobs allegedly direct replacements for Gibson top hats. ![]() I have a 2012 Traditional Pro II with a cracked gold top hat knob (bridge tone knob). Hoping someone out there who knows way more than I do about Les Pauls can help me with this one.
